There are opportunities for mentoring HCYLP program participants ages 8-17.

Specific mentoring duties include:

  • getting to know a participant through attendance of monthly Pathmakers activities (typically February through May);
  • preparing the participant and their family for the summer camp session that participant will be attending. This preparation may include:
  •         •scheduling a camp tour
            •preparation of camp forms
            •coordination of obtaining camper supplies from Diamond Brand Outdoors (if applicable),
            •ensuring camper preparation and arrival at camp on opening day,
            •checking in on the camper during camp, and follow-up after the camp session.

Mentors for high school participants in the L.E.A.D. Program:

  • help facilitate communication between the program administrators and participants,
  • attend monthly meetings
  • assist mentees with goal planning and achievement activities.

Mentors may also participate with mentees in activities outside of the program.

Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a mentor for a HCYLP participant. Anyone interested in working with program participants will be required to complete a background check.
